At this time, the Photography Gathering is expecting approximately
forty-five artists from twenty-four participating countries including Armenia, Australia,
Austria, Belgium, Canada,
Czech Republic,
Denmark, France, Germany,
Iran, Italy, Jordan,
Lebanon, Switzerland, Syria,
and The United States of
America….
LOCATION
The Electric
Building is the new center
for the festival. Contemporary art works hang on the eighty year-old
walls in a newly renovated vast industrial space. In past years the
exhibits have been held in the one hundred twenty year-old Shibani Building
in the old city, in the Old Ottoman army building and in the Train
Station. These buildings are now established as exciting cultural
centers. Also, in the last two years it has been organized at Le Pont
Gallery for political reasons.

DURATION
The
Photo Gathering lasts for 15 days, (October 1st
through the 15th
).
Attending artists are encouraged to host a workshop(s)
during the exhibition and are provided with accommodation for a
maximum of 3 days.
DEADLINES
The deadline for applications and submissions from artists is
July 30, 2009. Artists wishing to participate should submit
a CV, a one hundred word maximum biography or artist’s statement
and some samples of his or her work.

Contemporary Art Exhibits:
Art works are exhibited in
Electric
Building. We mainly
concentrate on contemporary and documentary photography.

Workshops:
The festival organizes and supports workshops given by
participating artists. Results of the workshops are exhibited in Electric Building.
Lectures and Conferences:
Professional artists and historians, from both
Syria
and abroad give lectures in the
Electric
Building\.

Sponsors
Sponsors of the festival (such as Embassies, or other
organizations or individuals) will have their logos printed in
the festival brochure, as well as on the advertising posters
which are distributed well in advance throughout Aleppo,
Damascus and of course, in the location of the festival itself.
Sponsors of the gathering can agree to contribute to the
preparations of the
Electric
Building, and/or artist's
accommodations, and /or the expenses of the workshops.
This is a non-profit
organization; participants do not receive remuneration for
exhibiting in the festival. Support received will be used for
the following expenses:
